AVDY Signals

Aviday Studios · 1987 — Present

The Archive

A permanent lane for recovered catalog. Tape-era sessions cut at Aviday Studios, pulled off the shelf and finished — some restored exactly as played, some rebuilt with the tools that exist now.

AVDY Signals was built to release music that does not arrive the ordinary way. The Archive is the oldest end of that idea. Thirty-nine years of sessions sat in cases: unfinished takes, one-off basement dates, records that got made and never got pressed. Nothing about them was broken — they just never had a distribution lane.

Now they do. Every Archive title states exactly what happened to it, on its own page and at distribution, using the three tiers below. A listener never has to guess which hands — or which models — are on a record.

Provenance tiers

One label per release, fixed at master delivery and carried through to every store, every playlist pitch, and every promo asset. The tier is not a disclaimer at the bottom of a page — it is part of the title.

Tier A

Restored

Human performance · No generative content

The original recording, cleaned and mastered. Noise, dropouts, and tape damage repaired. Levels and sequence set for release. Every note you hear was played into a microphone on the original session date.

  • No generative performance
  • No generative voice
  • No generative instrumentation
  • Not re-performed

Tier B

Rebuilt

Human performance · AI-assisted reconstruction

The original performance is still the record, but the tape could not carry it alone. Stems separated, missing or unusable parts reconstructed, arrangements completed around what survived. Disclosed as AI-assisted at distribution.

  • Original performance retained
  • AI separation and repair used
  • Reconstructed parts itemized per track
  • Disclosed at distribution

Tier C

Reimagined

Original composition · New AI recording

The song survives; the recording does not. The composition, arrangement, and writing credits carry forward into a new generative recording. A distinct record from the original, presented as one — never passed off as the tape.

  • Writing credit unchanged
  • Generative performance and voice
  • Produced under commercial license
  • Fully disclosed at distribution

Archive catalog

Released and in progress. Titles enter the lane in the order their source material clears restoration, not in the order they were recorded.

How a vault title gets released

The same four steps for every Archive record. The tier is assigned at step three and cannot move afterward.

Source review

Locate the original tape, DAT, or session files. Log what plays, what is damaged, and what is missing entirely. Confirm writing credits and performer consent before any work begins.

Transfer and repair

Capture at full resolution. Repair noise, dropouts, and speed drift. Separate stems where the mix has to be opened up. Nothing is added at this stage.

Tier assignment

Decide what the record can honestly be: restored as played, rebuilt around surviving performance, or reimagined as a new recording of the same composition. Locked here.

Finish and disclose

Sequence, master, and build artwork and promo. The tier and its disclosure ship with the metadata to every store and on every asset that carries the title.

Archive disclosure standard

AVDY Signals releases both human and generative music, and does not blur the line between them. Every Archive title carries one provenance tier — Restored, Rebuilt, or Reimagined — stated on its release page, in its store metadata, and on its promotional assets.

Where generative tools are used, they are used on material Aviday Studios recorded and owns, under commercial license, with writing credit to the original authors. Where no generative tools are used, the record says so plainly and nothing is re-performed.

Archive titles are not presented as new releases by their original performers. A reimagined recording is never passed off as the surviving tape, and a restored tape is never dressed up as something more finished than it is.
